T-Wolves Gaming Advances to NBA 2K League Finals

Minneapolis/St. Paul – T-Wolves Gaming, the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA 2K League affiliate team, tonight advanced to the NBA 2K League Finals courtesy of a 2-0 series sweep over Warriors Gaming Squad. The No. 4 seed in the NBA 2K League Playoffs, T-Wolves Gaming will take on 76ers GC (No. 3) in a best-of-five series with the winner claiming the NBA 2K League Championship. The NBA 2K League Finals will be played in New York on Saturday, August 3. With tonight’s two wins, T-Wolves Gaming has now won 11 straight contests dating back to the regular season.

In Game 1 of T-Wolves Gaming’s best-of-three Semifinal series with Warriors Gaming Squad, Michael “Bear Da Beast” Key registered a double-double with game highs of 24 points and 15 assists while hauling in five rebounds to lift T-Wolves Gaming to the 71-53 win. Christopher “TURNUPDEFENSE” Anderson poured in 22 points while Josiah “Dr_ JoJo_30” Oetjen contributed 16 points. T-Wolves Gaming shot 29-of-50 (58.0%) from the field, including a 10-of-17 (58.9%) mark from deep, in the win.

In Game 2, TURNUPDEFENSE again scored 20+, putting in a game-high 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting as T-Wolves Gaming recorded the series sweep, winning 68-46. Dr_JoJo_30 finished with 17 points while Jordan “JMoneyRep817” Martinez scored 16. BearDaBeast tallied another double-double with 10 points and 13 assists. T-Wolves Gaming swiped 16 steals as a team, led by TURNUPDEFENSE’s six, and forced 23 Warriors Gaming Squad turnovers.

T-Wolves Gaming advanced to the playoffs in the team’s inaugural season by virtue of a 10-6 regular season record, which included seven straight wins to end the regular season. T-Wolves Gaming defeated Blazer5 Gaming, 56-53, in the regular season finale, prevailing on a three-point shot by TURNUPDEFENSE with 0.2 seconds remaining on the clock. The win elevated T-Wolves Gaming into the playoffs, becoming the only expansion team this season to make it to postseason play.

The eight playoff teams are competing for a prize pool of $720,000. All NBA 2K League Playoff games will be played in New York and can be livestreamed on league’s Twitch and YouTubechannels.
