Earlier this spring, T-Wolves Gaming officially unveiled its new, state-of-the-art training center. The facility, located on the second floor of the Mayo Clinic Square building in downtown Minneapolis, is the home of both the players and the business operations staff of T-Wolves Gaming. T-Wolves Gaming joins both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynx inside of Mayo Clinic Square as the third Timberwolves property to reside there.

The training center is the first of its kind in Minnesota and creates a unique atmosphere for the players to practice in. The gaming area’s design concept is similar to the NBA 2K League studio in Long Island City, with an elevated gaming platform for the monitors for the six players, which resembles the 2K League stage. The facility also includes a player lounge for watching games, additional gaming space for a practice squad, and a dedicated streaming station for T-Wolves Gaming. The business section of the training center includes lockers for the players, office space for the business operations and content staff, and a conference room for watching film and conducting meetings.

Located on the skyway level in Minneapolis, T-Wolves Gaming’s facility is the first public-facing facility in the 2K League. Twelve-thousand people walk by the facility every day, seeing through the giant glass walls of the facility directly into practices. This is an unparalleled level of visibility for both the Minnesota Timberwolves organization and the NBA 2K League.

“We are beyond fortunate to have one of the best facilities in the league in order to practice, watch film, and have space for the team to unwind after practice,” said T-Wolves Gaming Interim Head Coach Justin Butler. “Between having top tier equipment, court access to walk through plays, and integration with our other franchises, this space helps set the foundation for our growth as a team now and into the future.”

Dimensional Innovations (Overland Park, Kansas) and Perkins + Will (Denver, Colorado), both of which were instrumental in the Target Center Renovation project, led the design and work on the new facility, which features custom T-Wolves Gaming painted walls and concept art.

T-Wolves Gaming plays its next game on Friday, May 31 at 7 pm CST against Cavs Legion GC, who are 5-5 this season. After a strong quarterfinal run in ‘The Turn’, T-Wolves Gaming is currently one game out of the playoff picture and looking for a strong second-half run to propel the team into contention.
