T-Wolves Gaming Completes Series Sweep of Kings Guard Gaming to Advance to NBA 2K League Semifinals

Minneapolis/St. Paul – T-Wolves Gaming, the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA 2K League affiliate team, tonight advanced to the NBA 2K League Semifinals courtesy of a 2-0 series sweep over Kings Guard Gaming. The No. 4 seed in the NBA 2K League Playoffs, T-Wolves Gaming will take on Warriors Gaming Squad (No. 8) tomorrow night in a best-of-three series with the winner advancing to the NBA 2K League Finals, which will be played in New York on August 3.

In Game 1 of T-Wolves Gaming’s best-of-three Quarterfinal series with Kings Guard Gaming, Michael “Bear Da Beast” Key recorded a double-double with game highs of 23 points and 11 assists to lead T-Wolves Gaming to the 64-51 win. Josiah “Dr_JoJo_30” Oetjen contributed 17 points while Jordan “JMoneyRep817” Martinez poured in 16.

In Game 2, Bear Da Beast again had his way with Kings Guard Gaming, scoring a game-high 22 points while dishing out nine assists as T-Wolves Gaming held on for a 56-49 victory and the series sweep. JMoneyRep817 added 12 points while Chris “TURNUPDEFENSE” Anderson tallied 11. The win was T-Wolves Gaming’s ninth straight overall.

T-Wolves Gaming advanced to the playoffs in the team’s inaugural season by virtue of a 10-6 regular season record, which included seven straight wins to end the regular season. T-Wolves Gaming defeated Blazer5 Gaming, 56-53, in the regular season finale, prevailing on a three-point shot by Chris “TurnUP Defense” Anderson with 0.2 seconds remaining on the clock. The win elevated T-Wolves Gaming into the playoffs, becoming the only expansion team this season to make it to postseason play.

The eight playoff teams are competing for a prize pool of $720,000. All NBA 2K League Playoff games will be played in New York and can be livestreamed on league’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

Earlier in the day the NBA 2K League announced T-Wolves Gaming forward Mihad “FEAST” Feratovic as the winner of the NBA 2K League Sportsmanship Award. The award was voted on by the players, team managers, league officials and media.
