2019 NBA 2K League Champions T-Wolves Gaming Drafts Two Players to Complete Its Second Season Roster

T-Wolves Gaming drafts Xavier “Big Saint” St. John and Christopher “Detoxys” Doyle

New York, N.Y — February 22, 2020 — T-Wolves Gaming, the NBA 2K League team of the Minnesota Timberwolves drafted two players in its second NBA 2K League Draft at Terminal 5 in New York City which was live streamed on the NBA 2K Twitch and YouTube channels. T-Wolves Gaming selected guard Xavier “Big Saint” St. John with the 22nd overall pick in the first round and forward Christopher “Detoxys” Doyle with the 68th overall pick in the fourth round.

Detoxys aka Christopher Doyle, enters his third season in the NBA 2K League. The Hampton Falls, New Hampshire native was selected by the Raptors Uprising Gaming Club with the 24th overall pick in 2018. Detoxys was then selected with the 44th overall pick by Lakers Gaming in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft where he went on to average 9.5 points 3.0 rebounds and 0.8 asssits.

Big Saint and Detoxys will join retained players Michael “BearDaBEAST23” Key, Mihad “IFEAST” Feratovic, Josiah “Dr_JoJo_30” Oetjen and Jordan “JMONEYREP817” Martinez to make up the 2020 T-Wolves Gaming roster. T-Wolves Gaming will once again train at the state-of-the-art T-Wolves Gaming Training Center located in the highly visible skyway level at Mayo Clinic Square, the same building that houses the new practice courts for the Timberwolves and Lynx. More than 10,000 people will pass by the T-Wolves Gaming Training Center daily.

The players in the NBA 2K League Draft were selected from a pool of 229 draftees that included 147 new players selected by the league through the NBA 2K League Combine, 22 players from 11 team-hosted Pro-Am tournaments, five players from the league’s first European Invitational, five players from the league’s second Asia-Pacific (APAC) Invitational, and 50 unretained players from the 2019 season.

The NBA 2K League is in its third season, with play for the 2020 season beginning with the TIPOFF Tournament. The dates of the TIPOFF Tournament will be released at a later time. Players will compete as unique characters (not as existing NBA players) in 5-on-5 gameplay. No artificial intelligence will be used; playing ability is strictly determined by skill.
